Happy Mother's Day

I want to wish each of you a wonderful Mother's Day.  Until I became a mother myself, I had no idea what an incredible role it was....incredibly rewarding....incredibly challenging...incredibly fun...incredibly exhausting...incredibly enlightening....incredibly humbling...INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT!  Each day is filled with highs and lows.  I often wonder why God entrusted me with these three precious souls and then I just dismiss the thought and offer prayers of thankfulness.  And through the daily challenges, I often think of my own mother and the sacrifices that she made for me.

I found this quote and it perfectly reflects how I feel today:

My mother kept a garden, a garden of the heart.  She planted all the good things that gave my life its start.  She turned me to the sunshine and encouraged me to dream, fostering and nurturing the seeds of self-esteem.  And when the winds and rains came she protected me enough, but not too much because she knew I needed to grow strong and tough.  Her constant example always taught me right from wrong.  Markers for my pathway that will last a lifetime long.  I am my mother's garden.  I am her legacy, and I hope today she feels the love reflected back from me.

May your day be filled with love and happiness!!!!  Happy Mother's Day!

  1. And those thoughts of appreciation for my own mother have intensified as my girls have grown older. We all had our moments right through to our early twenties. I can't recall Mum ever expressing how hard that was! Was I just a self centered young lady or was my mother the most stoic, sensible, kind person? Probably both are true!

  2. Love your quotation Jana. I've added it to my Quotes List. Beautiful LO as well. I agree with Esther that the older we get the more we appreciate our mom's and the things that "bugged us" as teens disappear and all that is left is admiration.

I have to catch up on Creative Composition as my responsibilities have been crazy lately. Ready for tomorrow's class and Happy Mother's Day to you.
