Mia on Two Wheels - Round 2

We had a really nice weekend...just mellow which is how I like it. Amelia learned how to ride bike on two wheels back in June. She rode on it for a couple of day and then decided she didn't want to ride on two wheels again. She took a two month sabbatical from the two wheel bike and then decided today she was ready to ride again. She got on it and away she went. That a girl!

PhotoShoot

My dear friend asked me to do a photo shoot of her beautiful son who just turned one last week. He has the most BEAUTIFUL blue eyes and don't let those little legs deceive you...this guy is fast! I should also mention that we took the photos at a gorgeous golf course...photo shoot of a cutie + time on the golf course = pure happiness for me!

Arboretum

We met Jacquie and the girls at the arboretum today...it was so much fun. We will certainly be going back in a few weeks when the colors are changing. Here are some pictures of our outing...

The kids worked together to give the statues a bath and wash their hair...

Little Cowgirl

Yesterday was Mia's first day of school. She has always wanted cowboy boots. I surprised her with these pink cowboy boots yesterday morning before school and she was beyond excited. She wore them the ENTIRE day. I always think of Mia as my quiet one and she is so not quiet when she is in a social setting. She walked into her classroom and said to her teacher immediately "check out my new boots" and then found a group of kids and sat down right in the middle of them to play. Last night after seeing her in these boots all day, I asked her if we could do a photo shoot...she jumped at the opportunity this time. It was so much fun. Here are a few of my favorites.

Back to School for Amelia and Quinn

Now we are completely back in the swing of things. Amelia and Quinn both started school today. Quinn has an ECFE class in the morning that he goes to with me (Amelia goes to sibling care) and then Amelia has preschool M, W, Friday afternoons. I think I am going to like this schedule. Right now Ellie is at school, Amelia is at preschool and Quinn is supposed to be taking a nap...technically I should have 1 hour of silence every M, W, F and that is reason to celebrate. I'm going to celebrate now by gutting the girls room and starting over. Amelia and Quinn LOVE school and are so excited to be back.

Here are some back to school photos!

Big Man on Campus wanted his bunny included in his back to school photos.

Amelia is in school with my dear friend Trendy's little boy Ryan...too fun!

First Day of First Grade

The first day of first grade...I can hardly believe it! Ellie has been counting down for weeks...actually I think she has been counting down for all day school since the day she was born. She just LOVES structure, learning, socializing...everything that comes with going to school. She woke up, got dressed all by herself and got her own breakfast and was ready to go before anybody else had even approached the breakfast table. I was so excited for her and quite honestly was pretty sad all morning. Her intensity often exhausts me but I SOOOO love that little girl. I had tears running down my face when I left her classroom. Our home environment seemed so different without her...it was quiet and Amelia and Quinn just went off and played by themselves. My shadow was not there and it felt a little odd. Ellie's day was AWESOME. She was so excited and can't wait to go back tomorrow. We are so lucky to be in this particular school. They have such a great reputation and we have been so very pleased with everything we have found there.

Long Way from Pioneer Hall

I met Julie in 1990 at the State Am and knew that she was going to be my freshman roommate in college. Let's just say that we hit it off immediately and to this day, she is one of my dearest friends. Fast forward 20 years (yikes) and here is where our lives have taken us....6 kids. And each of my kids was born within weeks of one of her kids...amazing. Life has certainly changed!
Let me introduce you to beautiful little Vivian. Something just gave me the impression that she wasn't a big fan of me taking her picture.

Can we say prom date? Quinn tried to convince Viv to take a ride with him on his big green tractor!

Soon to be first graders!
