Final Product

WOW! Where has the week gone....crazy. The weather has finally warmed up and we are thrilled to finally be able to go outside to play. Our syrup production is coming to a close. It has been such a fun process. Our dear friend Brian has done all of the work. We just collect the syrup and he has spent A LOT of hours boiling it down. It takes so much actual syrup to make a container. We have collected 35 gallons which has turned into 10 bottles (128 ounces or 1 gallon) of syrup. Isn't that crazy! Here is the finished product! We are going to enjoy a pancake breakfast with the McDonald family this Saturday. Because we only have 9 bottles, please don't be looking for them on the shelf of your local grocery store this year. Maybe next year. I'm kidding of course. Poor Brian hasn't had much sleep in the last month. I hope everybody has had a wonderful week!

  1. Jana,
Thank you for the use of your trees, who we affectionately call "the boys". As you know we finally tasted the wonderful syrup today at your home. Thanks to Jeff for all the cooking and the syrup was a hit.
The final tally, 128 oz of pure natural goodness. It took roughly 40 gallons of sap from your trees and a few hours of boiling. Needless to say, I am ready for a nap and something else that comes in a bottle!

What a great experience and I appreciate your willingness to indulge my curiosity. I am looking forward to next year already!
