Golden Birthday

Four years ago today this little soul...or rather big soul (10lbs. 2 ounces and 23 inches long) entered our world. Quinn's birth was way more traumatic than we would have liked. He wasn't breathing at first and we are forever grateful for the incredible medical care that he received. Jeff and I were so scared during those initial few minutes and now that I look back on the last four years, I cannot even imagine our life without him. He has truly been a gift from God.

This is my favorite photo of all times...

Today he looks like this. Here are some of my favorite pictures that I took of him this week. He is such a happy little guy and so full of life. I couldn't love this little guy any more.

We celebrated his birthday yesterday. This photo was taken before everybody arrived. He was playing with the little Star Wars figurines from his cake.

I know I've posted this page before but just had to share this little story. I almost always create at night when the kids are in bed. I usually show the kids their page in the morning. Apparently I did not show Q this page. I got my pages back from the printer this week. I put them in the albums. Quinn was going through his album and when he got to this page, he said "WOW MOM!". I have never got a "WOW" from him before. Then his little finger traveled from page to page on this spread and said "do you remember...". I just smiled and said "yes I do". This page represents four years of moments that I will never forget. Life is truly a gift and my heart overflows with gratitude for the incredible opportunity to have this little guy in my life.

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

10 Years

It is a big week around here. Jeff and I are celebrating our ten year anniversary today and Quinn has his golden birthday this weekend. We've had a really good week. Jeff and I snuck out by ourselves for dinner this week which is ALWAYS a treat. Ten years seems like a long time and yet I feel like we have been togethr forever. It has certainly been a busy ten years. I am so lucky that God brought us together and can't imagine my life without him.

This is the card that I made for Jeff...

All products are from Designer Digitals.

Jeff took off of work last Friday because I had a webinar and he took the kids. They ran a couple of errands and then went out for lunch. A couple of days later Quinn says to me "Mom, you know that Dad took us to the camera store to pick out your present". My heart started racing. I had no idea what he would have picked out but I REALLY liked where this was heading. He tried to explain to me what he bought (he wasn't even close on the description...he told me that he got me a little camera) and then asked me if I wanted him to show me where he hid it. Of course I said "no" but there was some temptation there. I told Jeff this and he just laughed. Needless to say I got my present earlier this week and it was an external flash for my camera. I was THRILLED and couldn't believe that he came up with this on his own.

In terms of photography, I feel like I do alright when I am outside because of the light. Inside is a whole different story. Living in Minnesota in which we are pretty much inside from November - April has its disadvantages. Our home is dark and I struggle with my indoor photos. I have had soooooo much fun playing with my new external flash. It has made a huge difference in my photos this week. It was the perfect gift.

I hope you have had a great week. Thanks for stopping by!

Somerset Digital Studios

In November, I found out that I was lucky enough to have been selected as one of the Spotlight artists in Somerset Digital Studios Spring 2012 issue. I was thrilled. I absolutely love this publication. It is filled with all different types of art and it is so inspiring. I love reading what inspired the pages and how the artist went about creating each piece.

I have six pages featured in this issue including this page below:

All products for this layout are from Designer Digitals.

This issue was released today (March 1st). I feel so fortunate to be a part of it. God has truly blessed me and I am so grateful.

Unfortunately, there was some confusion with one of my layouts which was my fault. The layout description and credits did not match the page that was published. The right credits for the layout "Sunshine" can be found here. My sincere apologies to the designers for the mix-up.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
